The CV Softball website index should look like this
If it doesn't, read on ......
Background -- The CV Softball left side index is written in a code structure called Java. This code structure has been around for more than 5 years. It is commonly used by nearly all web site designers. A few years ago, the developer of this code structure got into a heated debate with Microsoft and ultimately took them to court. Unfortunately a verdict was reached which prohibits Microsoft from bundling a fully licensed Java interpreter with either Internet Explorer or Windows XP. To satisfy customer needs, big name PC manufacturers routinely install the developer's java interpreter on retail PC's sold over the internet or locally at Circuit City or Best Buy. However if your PC was built by a small shop or by a trained IT person, they may have overlooked installing this important package. Solution - In order to install Java on your PC you have two options. (1) You can go to the developers website - http://www.sun.com/download/index.jsp - locate the appropriate download for your PC and install it. Be aware that selecting the proper package for your PC is a very complicated process. Also be aware that the download may take 5 hours or more over a good telephone connection. (2) Download and install the stand alone Microsoft Java interpreter available here - http://ww.ricksadler.com/msjavx86.exe . Package size is about 5 mb and will take approximately 15 minutes over a good telephone connection.
Installation Instructions Download either of the packages noted above. Be sure you know where the package will be saved on your PC. If you are unsure about this, direct the download to your desktop. Once the download finishes, locate the package and click on it to begin the installation.
